The E. Dold & Söhne KG AI 838 is a single-phase VARIMETER overcurrent relay designed for current monitoring applications in industrial control systems. On the AI 838, the scale is adjusted to the response value; when the monitored current exceeds the set threshold, the relay energizes, and the output contact resets automatically once the current falls below the setting value multiplied by the hysteresis factor. The unit operates without an auxiliary supply voltage, drawing its power directly from the measured circuit, and is compliant with IEC/EN 60 255-1.
