2020 Twin Fanuc ArcMate 120iD Robotic Aluminum Welding Cell — Dual Robot, High-Throughput
This is a complete, turnkey twin-robot aluminum welding cell built around two 2020 Fanuc ArcMate 120iD robots running on individual R-30iB Plus controllers, sharing a single 500 kg servo-driven headstock/tailstock positioner. The system was previously deployed in Rivian R1T / R1S battery tray production, where the dual-robot configuration cut weld cycle time roughly in half by running both robots in parallel on opposite sides of the tray during a single positioner rotation.
The cell has been received at our Bardstown, KY facility, powered up, and jogged on our floor. All major components are present, accounted for, and operational.
Why Two Robots Matter
OEMs spec dual-robot cells for one reason: cycle time. With a single positioner rotation, two synchronized robots can:
- Weld both sides of a part simultaneously — eliminate part flipping, cut cycle time roughly in half
- Run parallel processes — one robot tacks while the other welds, or both run heavy production weld passes in tandem
- Provide redundancy — if one robot faults, partial production can continue on the other
- Hit production takt for high-volume aluminum fabrication that a single robot cannot keep up with
Running Hours
Pulled directly from each controller's SYS TIMER (photos included in listing):
- Robot 1 — Running time: 3268 hours
- Robot 2 — Mechanical time: 967 hours (hours were reset and only mechanical hours were left showing, but should be comparable or less than robot 1 hours)
Running time reflects actual program execution / motion / welding hours — the wear-relevant figure. This cell saw limited volume during production before being decommissioned, leaving both robots with substantially low wear hours relative to their service rating (Fanuc arc welders are rated for tens of thousands of motion hours before major service).

We maintain a solid stock of welded-wire robotic safety fencing with leg bases and light curtain assemblies at our Bardstown, KY facility. A twin-robot cell needs a larger enclosed envelope than a single-robot cell — we can quote a complete perimeter guarding package sized for this cell shipped with the system. Save the lead time and the freight on a second shipment.

Available for in-person inspection and live power-up demonstration at our facility in Bardstown, Kentucky. Buyer is responsible for rigging and freight — we load free of charge with our in-house Hoist 40/60 forklift and Peterbilt flatbed.
